How do you select caregivers for each client?
Our caregivers are carefully chosen based on their experience, qualifications, personality, and a track record of dependable service.

What is the screening process for caregivers?
We interview each potential caregiver twice. Those that pass the first screening are invited to a second interview where we thoroughly review their qualifications, past work performance, and evaluate if they are positive, caring, friendly people that we would be proud to have join our family of caregivers. Finally, we verify their work references, and run background checks including; criminal history, driving history, and a social security number verification.

What if I’m not happy with the caregiver you provided?
First we’ll ask you why, so we can better define your preferences. Then, of course, we’ll provide you with another caregiver as many times as you need, until you are completely satisfied.

What are Live-In Services?
Often our clients need caregiver services around the clock. Sometimes they need assistance at night or just feel safer knowing someone is there ready to help in an emergency. Live-In care is just like it sounds. A caregiver is provided a bedroom and lives with the client. They sleep at night in the home, and are available to help. Fees for Live-Ins are usually a flat rate per day, rather than by the hour.

Do you provide a free in-home consultation?
Absolutely. We will meet with you and your family in your home to help you identify your specific personal care needs. This meeting helps us identify exactly which caregiver would be the best qualified and have a personality that will fit in your home.

How much does your service cost?
Our costs are outlined in detail on the price page. Click
here to get to the Rates Page.

What if I only need someone a few hours?
That’s no problem. We provide care for as little as 4 hours a day to as many as 24 hours a day and we also have Live-In caregivers.

What training do your caregivers have?
Remember, our caregivers do not provide skilled nursing services. We have a large number with a variety of skills, training and experience. Many are certified nursing assistants, or certified home health aides. Others are companions with significant experience caring for seniors. Many have experience and training caring for seniors suffering with Alzheimer’s, or dementia. While others have a background in caring for stroke patients. Remember, our caregivers do not provide skilled nursing or medical services.

What services do you provide?
We help seniors live their lives in their own homes, not a facility. Our services cover the full spectrum of non-medical in-home supportive care. Click
here to see our full spectrum of services.

When do you need non-medical in-home care?
Many adult children are torn between the care needs of their parents and their own children, they call it the "Sandwich Generation". So when family members or friends lack the skills or aren’t available that’s when you need to call Better Living. Particularly after a high risk event, such as a discharge from the hospital when a senior is most susceptible to a damaging fall that could force them into a nursing home the rest of their lives.

If I want to cancel or change my services, how much notice do you require?
Just 24 hours notice to cancel or change services.

Will Medicare cover this service?
Medicare does not provide coverage for non-medical in-home care.

Will my Long Term Care policy cover this service?
Usually Long Term Care policies provide coverage, however, each policy is different and may have requirements that need to be met before they will pay. You need to consult your policy prior to placing your order. We understand that sometimes the policies can be complicated, that’s why we are happy to help you with this process
